A new gig as it were
I’ve taken on a full-time gig for one of the startups I’ve been advising and working with over the past 5-6 months. It’s a wonderful challenge, idea and team that has a huge potential if executed right. That’s where I come in: getting things done fast, focused and right.
I’m very excited; it’s going to be lots of travels, late nights, strategizing...

We Heart New York
“New York, New York big city of dreams…” There is something intrinsically wild, dangerous and exciting about Gotham City. I love the city cause it’s always out of control and a grand master at reinventing and reinvigorating itself as the city of new dreams.
People come from everywhere - outcasts, weirdos, super talents, climbers - not to fit in but to make a mark. To step...

S&P hitting 875
After 6 weeks of crazy financials driven rally S&P hit my target of 875 on Friday. It’s very possible that we are heading for 950-1,000 but I’m getting very cautious here.
Most of the *great* earnings from the banks are fake in the sense that they are based on creative accounting and the huge spread fabricated by the Fed. BofA proved that this morning and everyone that believe...
Earning Well, Spending Big
I read in the WSJ article “Wealth-Less Effect: Earning Well, Feeling Otherwise” that a family in Florida and in San Jose don’t consider themselves wealthy on $260K and $400K per year. Time for a reality check. According to the Global Rich List they are both among the 0.001% richest people in the world.

A Silicon Valley Exodus?
In the last recession - right after the dotcom bust - gold seekers and knowledge workers left the valley in hordes due to the corporate downsizing. Looks like the same is happening in the current recession. But there is a difference: About 8-9 years ago the knowledge about the web was mainly centralized to Silicon Valley and a few other hi-tech zones across the world.
Today the web is...

75,127 miles
That’s how many miles I’ll have flown by June 9. Guess I’m getting the 1K after all…
23,792 + 2565 + 2579 + 5698 + 5698 + 5368 + 590 + 271 + 5698 + 5368 + 5620 + 5620 + 5368 + 446 + 446 = 75,127

Follow-up: Dropping AT&T like a dropped call?
I assume there will be several follow-ups to this blog post which has lived as a mental string in my mind for several years. To put it bluntly: AT&T sucks! The service, the website, the pricing (especially international roaming), the audio quality and the lack of tethering (though everything is in place to turn it on). If the american car industry would deliver the equivalent (lack of) quality...

The market keeps rallying
Looks like the S&P 500 is ready to keep running after the 50 point pullback from 830 (the break-down of the bearish triangle in mid-Feb). The not-so-bad news is fueling this bear market rally but eventually we’ll see another leg down.
If the futures this morning are any indication we’ll retest 830 with a possible target of 875 within the next few days / weeks. In this market...
