We Heart New York

“New York, New York big city of dreams…” There is something intrinsically wild, dangerous and exciting about Gotham City. I love the city cause it’s always out of control and a grand master at reinventing and reinvigorating itself as the city of new dreams.

People come from everywhere - outcasts, weirdos, super talents, climbers - not to fit in but to make a mark. To step on to the tundra of the urban wild west and partake in the 24/7 gunslinging.

During our last stay we discovered Tribeca as we stayed at the heavily discounted Smyth Hotel. So did Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, Elisabeth Shue and Thomas Haden Church. The latter made quite an impression in the lobby - meeting and greeting everyone with a very friendly attitude.

It’s the blade runner within me that likes to dive into this metropolis for a few days and get exposed to everything and anything. The food, the people, the dive bars, the new constructions, the crazy honking pace. The immediacy and the proximity to anything that matters is energizing. It’s impossible to just stand still and think which can be extremely relaxing.

We might spend more time there fairly soon…
