The internet is becoming this thing where it’s just people trying to become successful on the internet by showing other people how to become successful on the internet.

Merlin Mann (via tmblg)

I had the exact same though yesterday as I was venturing out on my daily walk. It’s all about doing and getting things done to emerge stronger out of this Great Recession. GTD will become even more important as the web is very much do-it-yourself. If you don’t know how to do things yourself: SEO, track performance through Google Analytics, understand XML, write specs, package products et cetera. What value are you then adding? I think command-and-control and telling-people-to-tell-people-to-tell-people what to do is so over.
